Kahikinui roadwork is set to get going
Roadway repairs in Kahikinui by the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands will begin Tuesday and last until March, the department announced Friday.
Contractor Goodfellow Bros. will be putting in approximately 2,200 linear feet of new reinforced concrete roadway, swales and spillways. The work will include the clearing, grubbing and removal of vegetation and debris, along with the excavation, demolition and removal of existing concrete pavement.
Work will be conducted from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays. Residents should expect construction noise, dust and slow traffic in the area during work hours, the department said.
DHHL anticipates the project to be completed in March, pending weather and construction conditions. The project cost of $964,000 is partially funded by state bond funding.
