Limited slots; preregistration is advised

The Maui News

Rapid drive-up COVID-19 testing, provided by Doctors On Call, Maui’s Urgent Care, will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at The Shops At Wailea.

People will remain in their cars where a nurse will conduct the test, the news release said. The rapid test provides results in 15 minutes.

Hawaii Medical Service Association/Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO and HMO, Kaiser and Medicare health insurance are accepted. For others, the cost is $63, which needs to be paid at the testing by credit card. Cash will not be accepted.

“This quick affordable test will provide residents the opportunity to take the appropriate steps for health and safety for their families, their community and themselves,” said Paige Williams, managing director of Doctors On Call.

The Quidel Rapid Test is approved by the Food and Drug Administration and has the accuracy rate comparable to the PCR test, Williams said.

Those taking the test will need to bring valid identification and health insurance card. After completing the test, Doctors On Call will call with results in about 15 minutes.

Testing slots are limited, and preregistration is advised at docmaui.com. Once registered, print the COVID-19 registration packet (no double-sided printing) and bring to testing.

The Shops At Wailea is located at 3750 Wailea Alanui Drive. For more information, call (808) 667-7676.
