Minit Medical offers voluntary, post-arrival tests
The Maui News
Minit Medical is offering voluntary post-arrival COVID-19 tests in Central, South and West Maui, county officials announced Wednesday.
While trans-Pacific travelers can skip quarantine if they test negative for the virus 72 hours prior to departure, Maui County has been urging people to take a second test 72 hours or more after arrival as an added layer of safety. Travelers must have taken the pre-departure test to be eligible for the free second test.
Minit Medical is accepting appointments at the following sites:
• Lahaina: 305 Keawe St., parking lot by the highway.
• Kihei/Wailea: 1280 S. Kihei Road, behind Ace Hardware.
• Kahului: 348 Lehuakona St., behind Maui Marketplace.
Travelers must pre-register for the post-arrival test at minitmed.com. If there are problems registering, call (808) 667-6161, ext. 7.
Testing will be at community sites only; travelers should not enter clinics.
A mobile unit will also visit hotels around the island to offer testing. Visitors should check with their hotel on dates and times that the mobile unit will arrive. Tests should be booked within the designated time frame, and results are expected within an hour.
Anyone who takes the free, voluntary test will receive a Mahalo Card for discounts and specials at participating vendors. For more information, visit kamaainafirst.com.
