Quarantine breaker returns to Colorado
A 23-year-old man chose to return to Colorado after he was arrested Saturday for violating the mandatory 14-day travelers quarantine after arriving on Maui, according to police.
Dalton Hielscher flew to Maui on Friday, didn’t have a negative pre-travel COVID-19 test and began the mandatory quarantine at a Kahului hotel, police said. When he was called by the quarantine call center Saturday, he said he had checked out of the hotel and didn’t have means for accommodations for the rest of the quarantine period, according to police.
He was arrested and transported by police to Kahului Airport after he chose to return to Colorado, police said.
