Baldwin cancels annual block party

The “We Love Baldwin” block party scheduled for February has been canceled due to COVID-19 restrictions on gatherings, according to an announcement from Baldwin High School on Friday.

The annual family event, which features live entertainment, food and games, raises funds for school teams, clubs and scholarships.

Instead, BHS will hold an online auction to raise funds. Officials said the goal is to raise $2,500 — enough for five $500 scholarships.

“In spite of COVID-19, school is in session, our seniors will graduate, and many of them will head to college or vocational/technical school next fall,” Principal Keoni Wilhelm said in the announcement. “We appreciate any donations that will help us meet or exceed our goal!”

Anyone who wants to donate money, goods or services should sign up at www.baldwin.k12.hi.us or docs.google .com/document/d/15k-JXMm3BF81fbvOEtXde88wC8SCTiy94PN79BK-_HY/edit.

For more information, call the school at 727-3200.
