High-surf advisory is extended a day
A high-surf advisory for Maui and Molokai has been extended to 6 a.m. Thursday.
Waves of 7 to 10 feet are expected along east-facing shores of both islands, according to the National Weather Service.
Meanwhile, a small craft advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. today for all coastal waters across the state except Maalaea Bay. East to southeast winds of 25 to 30 knots and seas of 9 to 13 feet are expected.
Inexperienced mariners, especially those in smaller boats, should avoid navigating in these conditions, the weather service said.
