Work will shut off water in Wailuku

Pipe fitting work will cause a water outage for some customers in Wailuku tonight and early Wednesday morning, the county announced.

MIRA Image Construction will be installing a 12-inch pipe fitting at the intersection of Vineyard and Market streets from 9 p.m. tonight to 5 a.m. Wednesday as part of the Vineyard Street improvements project.

The work will cause a water outage for residents in Happy Valley and Piihana and affect some water service in the area of Vineyard and Market streets.

The county encouraged affected customers to store water for use during the outage and to adjust their schedules as appropriate. They should also flush their waterlines Wednesday morning to ensure their water is free of accumulated sediment.
