Maui, Molokai under surf advisory all week
Maui and Molokai are under a high surf advisory until 6 a.m. Saturday as strong, persistent trade winds generate an east swell across the state.
Waves of 7 to 10 feet are expected along east-facing shores of both islands, according to the National Weather Service.
Strong breaking waves, shore break and strong longshore and rip currents are expected, making swimming difficult and dangerous, the weather service said Monday.
Beachgoers, swimmers and surfers should listen to ocean safety officials and exercise caution.
Meanwhile, the state Department of Health canceled a brown water advisory for the island of Maui on Monday.
