County is mailing out real property assessment notices
The Maui News
Real property assessment notices for 2021 will be delivered via mail to property owners on or before March 15, the county Real Property Assessment Division announced Tuesday.
The notice will show the taxable value of the land and, if applicable, improvements, the amount of allowed exemptions, the person who received the exemption and the classification assigned to the property.
Property owners are encouraged to carefully review the document and contact the Real Property Assessment Division by phone at 270-7297 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org if they have any questions, the county said.
If a property owner disagrees with the assessment, general land class or exemption shown on their real property assessment notice, they may file an appeal with the Board of Review by April 9.
The assessment notice also gives property owners the option of receiving a paperless electronic notice for the next year.
The county added that the notice is not a bill, and that the first half tax bill installment for the 2021-2022 fiscal year will be mailed on or before July 20.
Property owners who do not receive their notice or have questions can call 270-7297 or view assessment information online at www.mauipropertytax.com.
