Man sufferes burns in Kihei shed fire

A man suffered burns and was transported to Maui Memorial Medical Center Saturday night after an exterior storage shed in Kihei caught on fire, fire officials said on Sunday.

When fire crews arrived at the scene of the 8:45 p.m. alarm, they found an 8 foot by 10 foot exterior storage shed fully involved. The shed was valued at $2,500 and its contents also at $2,500, fire officials said.

There was no damage or fire spread to the primary structure at Noe Street in Kihei.

The cause of the fire is undetermined. The fire was under control at 9 a.m. and extinguished at 11 p.m.

Fire crews from Kihei and Wailea along with the Wailea ladder company all responded.

None of the residents were displaced.
