Maui Health to open vaccines to Phase 1c
Maui Health will vaccinate eligible Phase 1c residents starting Monday as the state moves to expand vaccinations to the largest demographic in its rollout plan.
Phase 1c includes those ages 65 and older, people ages 16 to 64 with high-risk medical conditions (Pfizer vaccine only) and all other essential workers who were not included in Phase 1b.
Vaccine recipients under 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, Maui Health said Friday.
The Maui Health Vaccine Administration Management System portal will open this weekend to allow new Phase 1c individuals to book an appointment. Those who are already registered in VAMS can log in and book an appointment at vams.cdc.gov.
Anyone who does not have a VAMS account and qualifies to receive a vaccine can begin the process by completing a Maui Health vaccine health record form at mauihealth.org/ covidvaccine.
Patients who received their first dose Moderna vaccine at Maui Health’s satellite clinic in Kihei can book their second dose in VAMS and must choose the “Maui Health Kihei Location.” If they choose any other location, they will be turned away.
