First photo: From right, Maui organizer Aubrey Ahana is joined by Brooke Holderbaum, Kaydence Lilio, Ashlee Klemperer, Andrea Snow, Melina Espino and Zari Espino (holding Shih Tzu Mackie) at a “March Against Menthol” sign waving Sunday afternoon fronting Queen Ka’ahumanu Center in Kahului. About a dozen people participated in the sign waving, which was part of a statewide event calling on state lawmakers to include menthol-flavored cigarettes in a proposed ban on flavored tobacco products. “Our goal is to try to put menthol back in the bill because menthol is one of the worst flavors,” said Aubrey, a sophomore at Kamehameha Schools Maui.
