Active cases at jail remain at 5

The number of active COVID-19 cases among Maui Community Correctional Center inmates remained unchanged at five Monday, following reports of three negative inmate test results.

Five inmates remained in isolation and 161 were in quarantine at the Wailuku jail, the state Department of Public Safety reported.

Eighty-nine inmates have recovered from COVID-19 since Feb. 1, when the first case was reported. Two staff members also have recovered, the department reported.
