Commercial units damaged in fire
Four units in a commercial building sustained heavy damage from a fire Monday afternoon in Lahaina, the Maui Fire Department reported.
The fire was reported at 5:43 p.m. Monday at 1000 Limahana Place.
Fire crews arrived on scene and found fire in an upstairs unit of the 19,800-square-foot building. The Fire Department reported that crews went into the building and stopped the fire from spreading to the rest of the building.
The fire was brought under control at 6:45 p.m. and extinguished at 9 p.m.
Damage was estimated at $237,000 to the structure. An estimate of damage to the contents of the businesses was unavailable.
Lahaina, Napili and Kihei engine companies responded, along with Lahaina ladder and tanker companies and Kahului rescue and hazmat companies.
The cause of the fire was undetermined.
