Flags fly at half-staff to honor former VP
Flags across Hawaii will be flown at half-staff in honor of former Vice President Walter Mondale, who died Monday at the age of 93, Gov. David Ige announced Tuesday.
Mondale served as Minnesota attorney general from 1960-1964, U.S. senator from 1964-1976, U.S. vice president from 1977-1981 and U.S. ambassador to Japan from 1993-1996.
The flags will remain at half-staff until sunset on the day of Mondale’s interment, which has not yet been scheduled.
