Kihei Charter School senior Noah Mamuad (from left) collects driftwood with parents Chris and Ka’ala Mamuad near Kahului Harbor Saturday. Original graduation plans called for using driftwood to create decorations for her party, but COVID-19 forced the family to regroup. “We’re making an arch she can stand under for her drive-by celebration,” Ka’ala Mamuad said. “We want to be as safe as possible.” Noah said the pandemic has made for a different sort of graduation. “Kind of weird, but I’m ready for it,” she said.
