Haleakala reopens after ‘winter weather’
Haleakala National Park’s Summit District reopened early Monday morning after closing Sunday afternoon due to winter weather conditions.
Park officials warned shortly before 6 a.m. Monday that drivers should be prepared for slippery conditions and periodic ice on roadways.
The Kipahulu District remained open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
