Man arrested for travel rule violation
A 32-year-old Kentucky man was arrested Thursday when he arrived on Maui in violation of travel quarantine rules, police said.
Glen Hollars was charged with violating public health emergency rules. His bail was set at $2,000.
Police said Hollars arrived from California without a negative pre-travel COVID-19 test from an approved facility and didn’t have approved lodging to complete the mandatory 10-day travel quarantine.
When he appeared in Wailuku District Court on Friday, Hollars pleaded no contest to violating public health emergency rules and was sentenced to a 10-day jail term.
