Surf, brown water advisories issued
A high surf advisory is in effect for east-facing shores of Molokai and Maui until 6 p.m. Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.
A north-northeast swell combined with breezy trade winds will produce surf of 6 to 8 feet.
Meanwhile, heavy rains prompted the state Department of Health to issue a brown water advisory for the north shore from Waihee to Hookipa, Honolua Bay and Fleming Beach Park on Monday.
The public is advised to stay out of floodwaters and stormwater runoff due to possible debris and pathogens.
