Latest developments:

• State Department of Health on Sunday reported 51 new confirmed and probable cases statewide, including 23 on Oahu, 13 on Hawaii island, seven on Maui, three on Kauai and five residents diagnosed out of state.

• There have now been 37,647 confirmed and probable cases statewide, including 27,808 on Oahu, 4,877 in Maui County (4,682 on Maui, 115 on Lanai and 80 on Molokai), 3,251 on Hawaii island and 361 on Kauai. A total of 1,350 residents have been diagnosed out of state.

• The statewide fatality count is now at 516, including 399 on Oahu, 57 on Maui, 55 on Hawaii island, two on Kauai and three residents who died out of state.

• As of Friday, 55 percent of all residents in Kauai County had completed their vaccination process, followed by 50 percent in Honolulu County and 49 percent each in Hawaii and Maui counties.

• DOH said Friday that the highly transmissible Delta variant has been found in all major counties in Hawaii, including two cases on Maui. The variant results in a higher rate of severe illness than other COVID-19 variants, health officials said.
