Police: Park officer threatened with gun
Police are investigating a report that a man pointed a firearm at a park enforcement officer Thursday night after being told to leave the parking lot at Kanaha Beach Park.
Officers were called to the park at about 7:20 p.m. to investigate a report of disorderly conduct.
When officers arrived, county Parks and Recreation enforcement officers said they had been advising two men in a truck to leave the parking lot because the park was closed when one of the men pointed a firearm at an enforcement officer and threatened to use it, police said.
The two men fled. Police checked the area for the truck but didn’t locate it.
