A virtual open house about the proposed Kama’ole Solar Project in South Maui will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

During the meeting, the public will have a chance to hear updates about the studies from the project team related to cultural and archaeological features, flora and fauna and visual simulations, according to a news release.

Following the presentation, there will be time for questions and answers as well as comments.

Kama’ole Solar LLC, a joint venture between Potentia Renewable Developments LLC and Peg Gen Holdings LLC, signed a power purchase agreement through Maui Electric’s competitive process to build a 40-megawatt solar facility with 160-megawatt-hour battery energy storage system. If approved, the project will be located on 320 acres of Haleakala Ranch land in Kihei.
