School supply drive starts this weekend

As schools begin to reopen and welcome students back to campus, The Salvation Army joins forces with Walmart stores statewide to “Stuff the Bus” for keiki in need.

For the campaign, the public is encouraged to donate school supplies on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at any of the 10 Hawaii Walmart stores, including Kahului Walmart. It’s a final push to support students returning to school during the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a press release.

Maui shoppers can purchase and drop off requested items at Salvation Army collection bins at the front of the Kahului Walmart store.

This year, the “Stuff the Bus” campaign events at all 10 Hawaii Walmart stores are part of more than 4,500 similar events taking place at Walmart stores across the country.

All donations made at “Stuff the Bus” campaign events will remain in the local community to help The Salvation Army provide back-to-school support to children in need. For more information, visit StuffTheBusHawaii.org.
