An everyday duty
Puunene Post Office Officer In Charge Chad Apana lowers a United States flag and a POW/MIA flag in high winds Friday afternoon in Puunene. “It’s part of our duty every day with the federal government,” Apana said. The blustery conditions made it a bit of a challenge Friday. “It’s a windy day,” Apana said. Bearing the phrase “you are not forgotten,” the black POW/MIA flag serves as a reminder of U.S. soldiers who did not return from the Vietnam War and are presumed prisoners of war or missing in action.
