Meetings on Hana bridges to be held Tuesday, Wednesday

Two virtual public meetings on improvements to bridges on Hana Highway between Huelo and Hana town will be held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday.

The state Department of Transportation in partnership with the Federal Highway Administration, Central Federal Lands Highway Division is holding the meetings. These are the third in a series of four meetings on the project.

The project team will discuss the proposed bridge solutions and construction considerations for how the bridges will be improved while maintaining traffic. There will also be a question and answer session.

Work on the project is currently in the environmental compliance and design process. This meeting is being held to gather input and support the environmental process and consultation under the National Environmental Policy Act and Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, according to a news release.
