2 officers suspended, 1 reprimanded

A seven-day suspension was ordered for a Maui Police Department officer who failed to secure his weapon while off duty last year, as part of internal investigations that concluded this month, police reported.

The officer also didn’t notify a supervisor about the incident in December, according to police.

A five-day suspension was imposed for another officer who failed to document a report in April.

An officer involved in a motor vehicle accident in March received a written reprimand after completing an online PoliceOne Academy course.

The names of the officers were not made public.
