COVID-19 at a Glance

Latest developments:

• State Department of Health on Thursday reported 156 new confirmed and probable cases statewide, including 96 cases on Oahu, 17 on Hawaii island, 22 on Maui, seven on Kauai and 14 residents diagnosed out of state.

• There have now been 82,886 confirmed and probable cases statewide, including 57,211 on Oahu, 10,768 in Hawaii County, 9,794 in Maui County (9,415 on Maui, 238 on Molokai and 141 on Lanai) and 2,508 on Kauai. A total of 2,605 Hawaii residents have been diagnosed outside of the state.

• Four new deaths were reported Thursday; the statewide fatality count is now at 880.

• Honolulu County is averaging 69 new cases a day and a test positivity rate of 1.6 percent, followed by Hawaii County at 25 cases and 3.2 percent, Maui County at 15 cases and 1.5 percent and Kauai County at nine cases and 1.9 percent.

• DOH authorized booster doses for Moderna and Johnson & Johnson on Thursday, recommending the shot for older and higher-risk individuals. State and federal health agencies said that people can receive different booster doses from their original vaccine.
