Haleakala volunteer program seeks interns

Applications are being accepted now through Dec. 17 for the Haleakala National Park Community Volunteer Ambassador yearlong internship program.

The program begins in February and supports the Volunteers-in-Parks program at Haleakala National Park.

Internship work includes expanding volunteer opportunities, increasing community engagement efforts and building relationships with Maui’s community.

Applicants must be 21 to 30 years old and available to work 40 hours per week. Interns are eligible to earn a bi-weekly living allowance up to $565 per week and an AmeriCorps Education Award of $6,345. Daily work shifts may vary by assignment and include working some weekends.

Applicants must provide their own transportation and housing.
