Jail has no active COVID-19 cases

Maui Community Correctional Center had no active COVID-19 cases Thursday after one previously positive inmate was released from isolation, the state Department of Public Safety reported.

The department also reported receiving one negative inmate test result Thursday.

Since the pandemic, 199 inmates and 21 staff members at the Wailuku jail have recovered after contracting COVID, according to the department.
