FIRST PHOTO: Postcards from Paradise photographer John Mallory works with a scarlet macaw named Sunny on Thursday afternoon on Lahaina’s Front Street. Mallory said he has been taking photos of people and birds in Lahaina since 1986, including at the same location next to Pioneer Inn since 1989.
SECOND PHOTO: Mallory rocks a hyacinth macaw named Lani on Thursday while flanked by another pair of macaws. The longtime Front Street bird photographer said Lani loves to be the center of attention and is willing to throw her water dish to the ground to make sure she gets it. “She’s the diva here,” Mallory said.
