Senior Fair prize entries due Monday

Na Leo Pilimehana and Kaina Kountry will highlight this month’s 48th annual Maui County Senior Fair, which will be held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic for the second year in a row.

Festivities will take place online from 10 a.m. to noon Oct. 22 on Zoom, Facebook Live and Akaku channel 54, the county said in a news release Thursday.

This year’s theme, “Communities of Strength,” celebrates the resilience and strength of Maui Nui’s kupuna. The fair will feature informational videos from businesses and nonprofits that serve kupuna, as well as remarks by federal, state and county elected officials.

Gift cards from local businesses like Longs and Foodland will be given away. To be eligible, participants must complete a sign-up form by Monday. Forms are available in today’s edition of The Maui News on Page A5 as well as online at form.jotform.com/212526339621049.

The event is produced by Maui Economic Opportunity and funded by the Maui County Office on Aging.
