Two men arrested for Paia burglary

WAILUKU — Two men were arrested Monday for allegedly burglarizing a Paia residence.

Jeffrey Voight, 39, of Haiku and Andrew Davis, 32, who gave no local address, were each charged with first-degree burglary and two counts of fourth-degree criminal property damage.

The two were arrested Monday evening after they reportedly had been seen going in and out of the residence on Hana Highway in Paia since noon, according to a declaration filed in court to support the charges. The resident reported three windows and other items were broken and the residence was ransacked.

During initial appearances Wednesday in Wailuku District Court, bail was reduced to $1,200 for Voight and kept at $6,000 for Davis.

Both men were ordered to have no contact with the victim and to stay away from his residence.

Davis has an active extradition warrant from Colorado, said Deputy Prosecutor Lewis Littlepage.
