Maui, Molokai under high surf advisory

North-facing shores of Maui and west-facing shores of Molokai are under a high surf advisory from 6 a.m. today through 6 a.m. Friday, according to the National Weather Service.
A new northwest swell was expected to fill in Wednesday night, peak on Thanksgiving Day and then lower on Friday and Saturday.
Large breaking waves of 10 to 15 feet are expected along north-facing shores of Maui, while waves of 8 to 12 feet are predicted along west-facing shores of Molokai, the weather service said.
Beachgoers should heed ocean safety officials’ advice and exercise caution.
