COVID-19 at a Glance

Latest developments:

• State Department of Health on Tuesday reported 79 new confirmed and probable cases statewide, including 36 cases on Oahu, 26 cases on Kauai, 11 cases on Maui, two cases on Hawaii island and four residents diagnosed out of state.

• There have now been 87,664 confirmed and probable cases statewide, including 59,570 on Oahu, 11,705 in Hawaii County, 10,372 in Maui County (9,981 on Maui, 246 on Molokai and 145 on Lanai) and 3,113 on Kauai. A total of 2,904 Hawaii residents have been diagnosed outside of the state.

• No new deaths were reported Tuesday, the statewide fatality count remains at 1,018.

• Honolulu County is averaging 43 new cases a day and a test positivity rate of 1.1 percent, followed by Hawaii County at 11 cases and 2.3 percent, Maui County at 15 cases and 2.0 percent and Kauai County at 15 cases and 3.6 percent.

• Hawaii has reached a 71.3 percent vaccination rate of the total population statewide, with Honolulu County at 74 percent, Kauai County at 68 percent, Hawaii County at 63 percent and Maui County at 64 percent.

• The lower vaccination rates this week compared to last week were due to the revamped Hawaii Immunization Registry which has been reactivated and upgraded, the DOH said on Monday.
