Crews clean up spill at hotel parking area
Fire crews responded to the Grand Wailea Resort Tuesday morning to contain and clean up a gasoline spill in the hotel’s parking structure, fire officials said.
The alarm came at 10:13 a.m., with crews finding about 10 gallons of gasoline that had leaked out of a hole in the bottom of the tank of an SUV. The gasoline was pooling around the vehicle.
Crews used an absorbent to soak up the pooling gas and plugged the hole of the tank to stop the leaking, fire officials said.
Engine 14 and Ladder 14 both from Wailea and Hazmat 10 from Kahului and a battalion chief responded to the incident.
