Grammy winners Los Lobos to perform on Maui

Grammy Award-winning group Los Lobos will perform at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 15 in Castle Theater at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center.

Tickets go on sale online only at 10 a.m. Wednesday to MACC members and Friday to the general public.

Kanekoa will be the special guest.

Los Lobos has won several Grammys, including one for Best Mexican-American performance for “Anselma” from its 1983 EP ” . . . And a Time to Dance.”

The group’s music has been described as a combination of son jarocho, norteño, Tejano, folk, country, doo-wop, soul, R&B, rock ‘n’ roll and punk, a MACC news release said.

Tickets are $15, $35, $55 and $85, with a limited number of $125 Gold Circle seats, plus fees. MACC members receive a 10 percent discount, except on the $15 seats. Ticket purchases can be made at MauiArts.org.

The MACC box office is open for questions from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday to Friday at (808) 242-7469.

Concert attendees must show proof of full vaccination and a photo ID. They must wear a mask at all times while in the venue. Proof of vaccination on phones is acceptable.

The concert will include a dance floor for those with orchestra-level tickets only.
