Woman arrested in Paia for driving stolen car

A woman was arrested Tuesday after she was reportedly seen driving a car that was stolen while it was parked on Baldwin Avenue in Paia.

Ashley Kenyon, 30, who gave no local address, was charged with first-degree unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle.

The owner of the Honda Civic saw Kenyon driving the car mauka on Baldwin Avenue after it had been parked with the keys inside Tuesday morning, according to a declaration filed in court to support the charge. The owner followed Kenyon to the end of Melia Place and got back his car, the declaration said.

Kenyon was arrested Tuesday night in Paia. Her bail was set at $1,000.
