Hoolehua water to be shut off temporarily
Water will be temporarily shut off in Hoolehua while a main water line in the system undergoes work next week, the state Department of Hawaiian Home Lands announced.
Service will be shut off from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through March 18 for customers on Lihi Pali Avenue west of the Keena Place intersection, Molokai High School and the Hoolehua Fire Station.
Affected customers are asked to store water and adjust schedules accordingly.
The improvements to the line, which will be conducted by DHHL’s contractor Goodfellow Brothers, are part of the department’s $37 million capital improvement project aimed at improving the 80-year-old Hoolehua Water System.
