Two hundred customers and 30 fire hydrants were without water service on Friday afternoon while the county Department of Water Supply conducted repairs to a mainline in Lahaina.

The affected area began at Lower Honoapiilani Road between Napilihau Street and Kapalua Place and also included Hui Road “F” and all side streets.

A 20-foot section of the southbound lane of Lower Honoapiilani Road was also closed in front of Honokeana Cove during repairs.

The department warned that once water was restored, residents and businesses could experience brown water and should flush their water lines by running the faucet for a little while before using the water.
