Kids Hurt Too Hawaii expands peer support groups to Wailuku and Lahaina
Kids Hurt Too Hawaii, a nonprofit that supports children and young adults experiencing grief or trauma, is offering monthly peer support groups in Lahaina and Wailuku to assist families affected by the 2023 wildfires and other challenges.
The sessions are designed to provide a safe and nurturing environment where children ages 3-19 and their families can process their experiences, build resilience and connect with others.
In Wailuku, the group will meet from 6-7:30 p.m. on the second Thursday of every month at the J. Walter Cameron Center Auditorium, 95 Mahalani St.
In Lahaina, the group will meet from 6-7:30 p.m. on the third Monday of every month at the Lahaina Comprehensive Health Center, 1830 S. Honoapiilani Highway. The next peer support group meeting in Lahaina will be Jan. 20.
Families are encouraged to register online or contact Kids Hurt Too Hawaii’s Maui Program Director Marissa Meerians at marissa@kidshurttoo.org or 808-298-4877. For more, kidshurttoo.org.
