Several break-ins reported on Maui

Several burglaries were reported this past weekend on Maui, including the break-in and theft of a karaoke machine and tools to make adult-size games for Yard Games Hawaii.

Owner Romy Mount said he walked into his business in Wailuku on Sunday and saw a door was open. Besides the karaoke machine, he said he lost some Milwaukee brand power tools worth about $3,000 to $4,000 including a grinder, saw, vacuum, drill, blower and a number of batteries.

“I’m still making a list,” he said.

Mount rents large-size versions of the games Battleship, Connect Four and Guess Who? for activities for corporate clients and for beach parties and weddings.

He’s just received an order to make large tables for the Hawaiian chess game Konane.

Burglaries were also reported at a gas station and at three condominiums on the 2000 to 2150 block of South Kihei Road.
