Maui firefighters sprung into action Thursday to put out a brush fire above the Kula Highway.

According to the Maui Fire Department, the blaze was reported at about 12:43 p.m., and two fire engines, a tanker and department officials responded.

Firefighters found the brush burning in a pasture, over a mile above Kula Highway, on Ulupalakua Ranch lands.

Firefighters reported having the blaze contained at about 2:45 p.m. and extinguished at 4:37 p.m. The fire burned an estimated 2 acres.

There were no reported evacuations or injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
