Firefighters tackle two blazes on Molokai on same day

Maui firefighters put out two fires on Molokai on Monday.

No injuries were reported in connection to either fire, and no one was displaced.

According to the fire department, the first blaze was reported at 3:43 p.m. in the 2600 block of Lihi Pali Avenue in Hoolehua.

The fire consumed an 1,800-square-foot structure that was reported abandoned prior to the incident.

At 5:10 p.m., firefighters responded to Kalua Koi Road and Maunaloa Highway to find an 1,875-square-foot barn and 1,000-square-foot storage shed fully engulfed in flames.

Firefighters were assisted by a Public Works tanker that supplied water at the scene.
