Christmas Eve service set at VIF

Valley Isle Fellowship will have a Christmas Eve candlelight service at 6 p.m. Sunday at 1033 Waiale Road in Wailuku.

The public is invited to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.


West Maui churches announce schedules

Maria Lanakila Church in Lahaina and Sacred Hearts Mission Church in Kapalua have announced their holiday schedules.

Maria Lanakila Church:

• 5:30 p.m. Saturday — Fourth Sunday of Advent Vigil Mass.

• 7, 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. Sunday — Fourth Sunday of Advent Masses. There will no 5:30 p.m. Mass.

• 6 p.m. and midnight Sunday — Christmas Eve Masses.

• 7, 9 and 11 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Monday — Christmas Day Masses.

Sacred Hearts Mission Church:

• 5:30 p.m. Saturday — Fourth Sunday of Advent Vigil Mass.

• 8 a.m. Sunday — Fourth Sunday of Advent Mass.

• 6 p.m. Sunday — Christmas Eve Mass.

• 7 and 9 a.m. Monday — Christmas Day Masses.

Trinity announces Christmas services

Trinity-by-the-Sea Episcopal Church will celebrate the fourth Sunday of Advent with a Said Eucharist at 9 a.m. Sunday.

The Christmas Eve celebration begins that evening at 7 with the singing of carols followed by the Holy Eucharist at 7:30.

All are invited to join this worship in the outdoor sanctuary under the stars. Trinity is a historic site set in the ruins of Native Hawaiian David Malo’s 1850s church.

On Christmas Day, there will be a Said Eucharist at 9 a.m.

Service to be held at Iao Theater

Unity Church of Maui invites the public to sing, be entertained by well-known local musicians and experience the meaning of Christmas during its Christmas Eve service from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Iao Theater in Wailuku.

Good Shepherd services announced

Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Wailuku has announced its Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and 12 Days of Christmas celebrations.

Ka ‘Ohana Kitchen will serve a holiday lunch to anyone in need from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Sunday.

Christmas Eve services begin at 6 p.m. with a costumed pageant and Family Eucharist. The youths of the congregation will present the story of Christ’s birth with readings and carols. The Good Shepherd Hand Bell Choir will be offering special music and accompany the congregational singing, as well.

At 10:30 p.m., there will be a Carol Sing, led by organist Beth Fobbe-Wills and trumpeter Danny Acidera. Christmas Mass follows at 11 p.m.

Christmas Day Holy Eucharist will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Monday.

The celebrations continue during the 12 Days of Christmas through Epiphany on Jan. 6 and until the first Sunday after Epiphany on Jan. 10.

Good Shepherd holds Holy Eucharist at 5:30 p.m. Saturdays and at 7 and 9 a.m. Sundays.

Emmanuel Lutheran holding services

Emmanuel Lutheran Church will be holding Christmas services at 10 a.m. Sunday and a traditional carols service at the same time Christmas Day.

The church is located at 520 W. One St. in Kahului. There will be a Christmas skit and carols at the Sunday service.

The church also will be holding a candlelight service at 9 p.m. Sunday at 655 Wainee St. in Lahaina.


Po’okela to hold Christmas service

Po’okela Church will have special services Sunday at the church at 200 Olinda Road in Makawao.

During the 9 a.m. service, Christmas will be celebrated. The new parking lot will also be dedicated. Attendees are urged to wear white. There will be child care available and food for fellowship.

A candlelight service will be at 7 p.m. Light refreshments will follow.


Waiola Church plans services

Waiola Church in Lahaina will hold its Christmas Eve morning service at 9 a.m. Sunday with a candlelight service at 7 p.m.

The Christmas Day service will be at 10 a.m. The church is at 535 Wainee St.
