Greg Laurie will speak at Harvest Kumulani Chapel
Greg Laurie, founder and senior pastor at Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside, Calif., will be speaking at Harvest Kumulani Chapel on Sunday. Service times are 8 and 10 a.m. in Hale Hokulani (The Barn) on Office Road in Kapalua.
All are welcome to attend and Sunday School is provided at the 10 a.m. service, for children 9 months old through 5th grade.
Laurie is also the founder and evangelist for Harvest Crusades and Harvest America, evangelistic outreach events that have drawn some 5.6 million people to stadiums and arenas around the world since 1990.
Group gathering in Kihei for United in Prayer Day
Contemplative Outreach Maui is gathering for United in Prayer Day from 9 a.m. to noon March 17 at Trinity by the Sea Episcopal Church in Kihei.
Participants will join in centering prayer, watch a short DVD from the “God is Love: The Heart of all Creation” series, discuss and spend time listening to God in the gardens at Trinity. For more information, contact Paula Baldwin at email@example.com.
St. Theresa Church continues Lenten season observances
St. Theresa Church in Kihei will hold Stations of the Cross at 6:30 p.m. today, March 16 and 23, according to a online church listing. Different church ministries and groups will lead the stations observances.
At 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, the parish will have a Lenten penance service.
And, there will be an ecumenical soup and salad gathering at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the church hall, followed by prayer at 7 p.m. in the church. As the hosting parish, St. Theresa church members will provide soup, bread, drinks, paper products and utensils. Other parishes will bring salads and dressings.
At 7 p.m. Thursday, island Catholics will gather at St. Anthony Church in Wailuku where Bishop Larry Silva will celebrate the Chrism Mass, the annual liturgy where oils used for administering the sacraments are blessed. Representatives from island parishes and communities bring their oils to the Mass for blessing.
