88 temples event planned in Kula

Kula Shofukuji Shingon Mission invites the community to experience a scaled-down version of the Shikoku Island 88 temples pilgrimage at 10 a.m. Sunday.

This Osuna Fumi celebration allows people to visit, in miniature, all 88 temples by standing on sandbags from each temple while viewing scrolls, temple photos and sand figurines of deities.

The mission is located at 119 Puanani Pl. in Kula, 50 yards from the Haleakala Crater turn-off on Kekaulike Highway. Look for umbrellas. Lunch will be served.
