Business meeting to feature show

The Fall Aha Mokupuni 2019 will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 7 at Maui Evangelical Church, 256 Hina Ave. in Kahului.

In addition to the usual Tri-Isle Association business meeting, the Fall Aha Mokupuni will feature Moses Goods’ one-man show, “My Name is ‘Opukaha’ia” — a half-hour dramatic presentation on the life and times of Henry ‘Opukaha’ia, one of the first Native Hawaiians to convert to Christianity. Sponsored by the Hawaiian Mission Houses, Goods’ play takes the audience to different scenes from ‘Opukaha’ia’s life, including traumatic events from his youth, his arrival and residence in New England, and his conversion to Christianity.

Lunch will be provided. RSVP to iaoucc@hawaiiantel.net or (808) 244-7353.
