High Holy Days services planned
The Jewish Congregation of Maui invites the community to attend Yom Kippur services at Beit Shalom Synagogue, 634 Alulike St. in Kihei. Egalitarian and pluralistic services for Yom Kippur begin at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday with Kol Nidre with songs by Bonnie Newman. Services begin at 9 a.m. Wednesday and end with a “Break Fast” at the synagogue. All are welcome to join the services, including children.
Healing Mass at St. Anthony
St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church will have a healing Mass at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the church center in Wailuku.
Church announces blessing of animals
The public is invited to come to a Mass and Blessing of the Animals at 8:30 a.m. Sunday at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Wailuku.
The Mass celebrates The Feast of St. Francis of Assisi — Patron Saint of Animals. Owners and their domestic animals are welcome. Smaller animals such as mice and rabbits should be in carrying boxes. All dogs should be on leashes. Owners with shy or unsocial animals may bring photos of their animals. All animals, including photographs of animals, will receive a blessing.
Everyone is also invited to enjoy a potluck after the service.
