Greg Laurie to speak at Harvest Kumulani

Pastor and evangelist Greg Laurie of Harvest Ministries in California will be speaking at Harvest Kumulani at 8 and 10 a.m. Sunday. Keiki Sunday School will be at 10 a.m. Harvest at Kumulani Chapel is located on Office Road in Kapalua, across the street from Honolua General Store.

Baha’i observe bicentennial

Maui Baha’i invite the community to a bicentennial celebration of the faith at 6 p.m. Oct. 28 at the Paia Community Center. There will be music and a catered dinner. In addition, a potluck dinner will take place at 6 p.m. Oct. 30 at Maui Baha’i Center in Makawao, 3574 Kekai Place. Admission is free and the public is invited.

The Baha’i Faith recognizes one God and one human family, according to an announcement. Unity is at the heart of Baha’i teachings. For more information, call 572-1111.


Celebrate Israel Summit Nov. 6

A Celebrate Israel Summit will take place Nov. 6 at Binhi At Ani Community Center in Kahului. Registration is at 4:30 p.m. and the event begins at 5.

Attendees will hear from influential leaders from Israel, experts on U.S.-Israeli foreign policy and front-line leaders from the Christian and Jewish communities.

Hawaiian and Israeli cultures will be highlighted through dance, music and protocol. Refreshments and dinner will be served.

The event will end with a silent auction displaying a variety goods and services.

Pro-life event to honor veterans

St. Anthony Church in Wailuku and other groups will host a pro-family/pro-life event honoring veterans at 7 p.m. Nov. 6. Former Kauai Mayor Bernard Carvalho will be the keynote speaker. Dr. Andrew Kayes will also honor the veterans and express his pro-family/pro-life views as a member of the medical profession.

The “I Love America Choir,” composed of members of various churches and organizations, will be performing. Anyone wanting to join may come to rehearsals every Sunday from 4:15 to 5:15 p.m. at the Faith in Jesus Church, 432 Waiehu Beach Road, Wailuku.

Billy Perry and Norman Franco are also a part of the musical program. Kahu Roy Newton will be the emcee and Kalia Dizon will honor the veterans by leading the National Anthem.
