Candlelight service at Calvary Chapel
Calvary Chapel South Maui invites the community to its 6 p.m. candlelight service Tuesday to celebrate the birth of Jesus.
The church is located at 320 Ohukai Road, Suite 416, in Kihei. Dessert and fellowship will follow the service.
Unity Church plans Christmas Eve service
Unity Church of Maui’s Christmas Eve service will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Iao Theater. The program will include Christmas carols and music by Adisa Omar, Marsi Smith, Louise Lambert, Curt Lee, Ken Stover and Jesse Smith. The Rev. Blaine Tinsley will give an inspirational message titled “Christmas Presence.” The talk will be about how to be present during the Christmas season and throughout the year. The public is invited; donations are appreciated.
Two types of services at UCC
Iao United Church of Christ in Wailuku will offer a Blue Christmas service at 6 p.m. Saturday at 2371 W. Vineyard St. According to an announcement, this service is for people who may have experienced a loss and wish to have a quiet, more reflective service as a way to experience Christmas.
The church will also have a Christmas Eve candlelight service at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Christmas Eve set at Waipuna Chapel
Waipuna Chapel in Kula is hosting candlelight Christmas Eve services at 5 and 7 p.m. Tuesday.
These family-friendly services will consist of traditional Christmas carols, a special presentation by the choir, and a Christmas message from Pastor Shaun Waite.
There will be children’s programming for toddlers through grade 2. Light refreshments will be served after each service. For more information about the church, visit www.waipunachapel.com.
Christmas services at Good Shepherd
Good Shepherd Episcopal Church invites its members, friends and neighbors to celebrate the birth of Christ. Christmas Eve services begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday with a costumed pageant and family Eucharist. Children and youths will present the story of Christ’s birth, with readings and carols.
Later in the evening, there will be carol singing at 10:30. Everyone is invited to come and join in singing favorite carols. The traditional Christmas Mass will begin at 11.
Christmas Day Holy Eucharist will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Wednesday.
The church will also celebrate the 12 days of Christmas and then the season of Epiphany. Holy Eucharist takes place on Saturdays at 5 p.m. and Sundays at 7 and 9 a.m.

Trinity announces Christmas schedule
Trinity by the Sea Episcopal Church in Kihei invites everyone to celebrate the birth of Christ:
• 9 a.m. Sunday: Fourth Sunday in Advent, Holy Eucharist.
• 7 p.m. Tuesday: Hymn singing followed by Christmas Eve Holy Eucharist.
• 9 a.m. Wednesday: Christmas Day service.
Trinity is located at 100 Kulanihakoi St. on the site of the historic 1850s church of David Malo and has an open-air sanctuary.

2 services planned at Makawao church
Makawao Union Church will offer two Christmas Eve services Tuesday.
The 6 p.m. service will be a jazzy hour designed for families and children. The church’s jazz combo will play and the choir will sing as attendees hear the story of Jesus and his parents. Special music will start at 5:30.
The 11 p.m. service will feature a traditional candlelight lessons-and-carols format. There will be a rich diversity of carols, special music featuring the chancel choir, and guest soloists. At midnight, there will be a singing of “Silent Night” accompanied by the church’s pipe organ to welcome Christmas Day.
Makawao Union Church is located at 1445 Baldwin Ave., between Paia and Makawao.
Christmas Eve service at Keolahou church
Keolahou Congregational Hawaiian Church in Kihei invites the community to its Christmas Eve service at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. The church is located at 177 S. Kihei Road.
